Breaking Ground at The Backyard
Studio Balcones is excited to announce that we will be part of The Nelson hotel design team at The Backyard in Bee Cave working along side Dick Clark Architecture! The Backyard is a visionary Creative Business Campus that mixes Austin’s Hill Country soul with unparalleled techno-luxury and amenities. Music, entertainment, work, leisure, and technology converge to create a new standard.
The Nelson will be a part of this vision, offering its guests 125 pool-centric rooms with covered porch and patio spaces, green rooftops, and a salon and spa open to the public. Immediately adjacent is the uniquely beautiful Hilltop Garden, offering a serene outdoor space which completes the experience.
Across the circle drive, the Annex offers meeting rooms, ballrooms, and even a state-of-the art music recording studio. The Nelson can be the perfect home-away-from-home for any creative business endeavor you may have, or just a luxurious Hill Country getaway that captures all the best Austin has to offer.
This weekend was The Groundbreaking Ceremony and Celebration with John Paul DeJoria & Christopher F Milam, special guest and a live performance from Bob Schneider and a visit from the Mayor; Caroline Murphy of Bee Cave. Here’s John Paul DeJoria speaking about the project to curious spectators, designers, architects and residents. Including the Studio Balcones team!
