Vintage Creek Phase II

This week, we are thankful for our opportunity to collaborate with
Foundation Communities on several new design and construction projects
underway, but also on a number of their existing property capital improvement
projects. In 2014, we were brought on board to develop a master plan addressing
drainage and connectivity issues for the Trails at Vintage Creek, one of their
larger properties located in northeast Austin. The master plan set up a
framework for phasing and establishing resident and staff priorities. As part
of the Phase II UrbanLift grant last year, we created a series of nature-based
play nodes drawing inspiration from the site’s topography and utilizing
existing heritage trees as grounding elements. Educational signage was produced
and installed by Ann Armstrong throughout the site and a habitat garden was
created in the central zone thanks to contributions from the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and volunteer Eagle Scouts.
